Concert month

May is the end of the school year - it is also the end of dance and piano, so that means concerts. First Caitlyn had her dance concert:

Then a couple weeks later was her piano recital. Im really proud at how hard she worked this year. She received the award for the most practice of all of the students. She has become so good so fast. I hope she keeps going - what a great talent to have! She played one solo and one duet with her teacher, Sister Webb. Not pictured, but Sister Webb also asked me if I would mind playing a solo to show a more accomplished pianist after years of playing (she shouldnt have asked me then!) but I had a great time preparing and playing - that was my first time playing a solo! It was a littler nerve-wracking but I was happy to have done it.

Memorial Day 2012

It was a chill, relaxing day. We didn't do much more than play Wii, blow bubbles with cousins and have a BBQ. It was great!

Here we go again....

Caitlyn said she wanted it....again. I wasn't to keen on the idea because of the tragic end of the first try at ear-piercing (think back of earring fully imbedded in her ear covered in puss) but she seemed really ready for the responsibility.
So far she's been doing a great job of keeping it clean. Good job Caitlyn!

Arts and Academics

Last night we were able to go to Caitlyns Arts and Acdemics night at her school. Caitlyn was awarded:
2nd place in "drawing without color"
3rd place in "poetry writing"
We're extremely proud of her for choosing to explore her talents.

UPCYCLED T-SHIRT DRESSES

I in no way take credit for this idea but when I saw it I knew I had to try it. I have made a few extra and if your are interested in buying one let me know. All of the dresses come with a matching hairbow (pictured on the hanger). The top shirt is brand new and the bottom layers are from existing t-shirts.

I dont want to forget some of the fun ways that Alison is pronouncing words right now so here's a list:

"Alison, are you silly", Alison: "Yeah, I  be so silly"
Alison with a big pouty face: "I sad" then immediatly after, with a grin "I happy"

Okay: Tay
Caitlyn: may-teen
Nathan: nay-teen (almost exactly like Caitlyn)
"Im pretty" sounds a lot like "Im beefy" - to which we always laugh.

Fun facts:
- Shes my only child that can be cured with kisses. Doesnt matter the ouie - if she gets kisses she will just say "All betta" and be on her way.
- She loves to giggle and to smile. She'll giggle a lot and say "I silly"
- Her favorite show by far is Yo Gabba Gabba
- She loves Thursday morning when we go to the kids club at the mall. She has a small crush on Dewper. She runs and gives him hugs immediately. Throughout the week she can be found wearing her membership necklace. If we get in the car in the morning she starts chanting "Dew-pae, Dew-pae" (Dewper, Dewper) like they do in the song. She'll sing the songs throughout the week. Sometimes she gets extremely giddy when we start to sing it out of the blue.
